Man…that was awesome. Mr. Suda is narrating the trailer and he really does a good job in advertising his game. The humor of the sequel looks to be just as good, too.
I have some fears about the controls, however. There’s doesn’t look to be any MotionPlus support thus far even though Mr. Suda suggested that he would like to use the add-on in past interviews. But the trailer suggests more ways to slash and finish opponents instead of the default ones in the prequel…I’m sure that there are going to be inaccuracies without MotionPlus support. Also, using your nunchuck to “control” the 2nd beam katana is risky business. More beam katana types is good stuff though.
I LOVE the fact that most of the minigames and fetch quests this time around are homages to retro games. From the looks of the trailer, the retro 2D look is really well-designed. After all, these minigames were one of the complaints of NMH1 so a refreshed retro feel will probably make us want to play them more.
There seems to be some confusion as to who will publish this game. Marvelous Entertainment suggested that XSEED will have the honors of doing so. However, E3 2009 and this trailer confirm that Ubisoft is coming back for the sequel. Also, the game looks to be aimed for the North American and European markets a lot more than Japan since sales severely lacked in the latter.
I can’t wait for this game! January 2010. Mark your calendars.
