What, what, what? Didn’t OverClocked ReMix just release a Xenogears album last month? These things usually take longer to churn out, right?

Well…surprise, surprise. OCR’s 16th album is out: Castlevania — Sonata of the Damned. Just in time for Halloween (happy belated Halloween, btw!). After all, no Halloween is complete without some “spooky” video game music, eh?

While Castlevania isn’t really a surprise choice for a Halloween special, the direction of the album itself is full of surprises and firsts for OCR. Here we have a focused album comprised of 7 tracks spanning throughout this beloved game series, all arranged by one man named Joshua Morse. He has previously appeared in OCR albums and other VG Music work, so he’s known among the community. In this album, he goes all synthy/funky/jazzy on our ears with some solid arrangement work.
