Thanks to Kotaku for directing me to the video and the uploader for sharing this with everyone.
One thing Nintendo of America constantly does right is game commercials. They love to blur the line between fantasy and reality…and this Spirit Tracks commercial is no different. Great attention to detail in parallelisms between the game and real life. I can almost see myself hallucinating like that if I play this game for a couple of hours straight.
On that note, here’s another similar commercial for Super Mario Strikers for the GameCube. It’s one of my personal favorites because it’s so hilarious.
And here’s one final oldie but goodie for Tiger Woods 2009. Perhaps one of the smartest and funniest advertisements ever, EA’s sense of viral marketing is spectacular here. Just know that what you’re going to see in the beginning of the video really happened…some fan made fun of the ’08 edition in a different YouTube video by showing a certain glitch…and EA’s responds with such elegance.
You readers should browse YouTube for more of this goodness and inform us of your favorite game ads.
