It appears the writings on the wall. Valve started releasing faux ads to various gaming outlets today. One such ad is showcased below.

Teaser images like this started popping up early this morning.  Others showcased early Apple commericals to the latest Get a Mac commercials featuring “I’m a Mac, and I’m a PC.”  Recently Valve updated Steam to incorporate a new graphical user interface, and added a bunch of behind the scenes content.  This secret content actually featured a lot of Mac-related goodies from the graphics used in OS X to various other hints of what was to come.  With today’s move, Valve has all but confirmed that Steam will be coming to the Mac sometime very soon.

We’ve been saying Apple will be getting into the gaming industry in one way or another for quite some time now, and if Valve does indeed release Steam for the Mac that will surely spice things up.  Macs typically haven’t been known as gaming platforms, but having the number one online distributor for computer games is clearly a great way to change the current tide.  We’ll update the story once we have confirmation or a possible release date for you.
