Gaming on the iPhone/iPad Touch has been extremely successful for developers. So much so in fact that Apple is gearing up for the launch of Game Center. Think Xbox Live, except for all the i-devices. The idea is you will have one unique gamer ID, there will be achievements, etc. What are developers to do in the meantime though? Capcom has asked this very same question, and has decided to use OpenFeint for two of their latest iPhone games, Dark Void Zero and Hatchlings. Both games are currently available for download on the App Store and use OpenFeint for achievements and leaderboards. If you’re really into online gaming, you know how important these features have become. The question is, what’s going to happen to these third party solutions once Apple’s Game Center launches later this year?

Hatchlings is an additive puzzler where the goal is to help Echo, The Gecko maintain the Great Hatchery by preparing magical creatures known as Hatchlings for their release into Crystelwell Forrest. To prepare the hatchery, you must line up three creatures vertically or horizontally using only the horizontal axis. Once at least three creatures are aligned they’ll disappear from the board.
