Apple Media Event Planned For September 1st

Have any plans next Wednesday?  If so, you may want to cancel them, because Apple just sent out their invites for a September 1st media event.  It’ll take place where all their fall events take place, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.  The event will commence at the typical time as well, 10:00AM Pacific Time.

While we don’t know for certain what will be announced at this event, it’s a pretty good guess to say the latest iPods will be revealed.  Rumors have it that Apple will release a new iPod Touch with FaceTime built into it.  I think that’s an extremely safe bet at this point in time.

Others are also saying that Apple will use this event to showcase “one more thing” which will be a new Apple TV, renamed iTV.  It will essentially be an iPhone 4, minus the screen and phone functions.  It will connect to your TV, have its own App Store, and stream HD content from iTunes.  We’ve heard this rumor for a while as well, so it could happen.  The biggest news is that Apple has apparently worked their magic with TV networks to provide 99 cent TV show rentals.

I’ll be sure to update next Wednesday so you can follow all the news then.  Hopefully a few good surprises are in store as well.
