We all know Jarrod is a hardcore comic book fan, and I’m sure Sega’s new Captain America: Super Soldier is right up his alley! The game was announced today by Sega, and will feature an original story taking place during World War II. Right now, there is no official release date other than “released in 2011″, and it will be coming to all major console platforms on the planet.

“Videogame players the world over can now become Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Captain America,” said Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEGA Europe and SEGA America.

“Captain America: Super Soldier puts players in the boots of the ultimate Super-Soldier, wielding Captain America’s legendary shield. Working closely with Marvel ensures we’re delivering the caliber product that gamers and comic fans deserve and it’s a partnership we’re proud of here at SEGA.”

Marvel fans might be happy that Christos Gage is writing the story for the game, and remember it will be an original story not based on the Captain America movie that’s in the works now. Project COE will have more news on Captain America as 2011 draws closer.
