It’s that time again when we let you know just how well your favorite consoles are selling. Before we get to that, let’s take a look at the highest selling game for November 2010. I’ll give you one guess. What’s that, you said Black Ops, well guess what you’re right! In fact the game sold a whopping 8.4 million copies making it the seventh highest selling game of all time. It’s only been on the market for a month! Imagine how well it’ll perform in the coming weeks leading up to Christmas. Ouch! Here’s the complete top ten.
Given the way the NPD hands out the information, we no longer know just how well each of these games sold. What we do know are how many consoles have been sold. Microsoft takes charge yet again this month, making it six consecutive months in a row that Microsoft has come out on top in the console race. The official standings are as such.
1) Xbox 360 – 1.37 million
2) Wii – 1.27 million
3) PlayStation 3 – 530,000
No word on portable sales just yet folks, but rest assured the DS sold billions. The reason given for the extremely high Xbox sales is thanks to the successful Kinect launch. The magical sensor has already sold over 2.5 million units thus far. It might also have something to do with the success of Call of Duty: Black Ops.
