Sony Confirms Milestone Achieved In Bringing PSN Back Online

Sony has confirmed the PlayStation Network is in the final testing phase.  The company refuses to give an exact date, which means we seriously doubt the network will return tomorrow as Sony originally stated.  That being said, the very fact they are in the final testing phase means the new network should be back online relatively soon.  It’s hard to believe the whole platform has been offline since April 20th.  For all those that bought Mortal Kombat, Portal 2, SOCOM 4 and this week’s MotorStorm: Apocalypse we feel your pain.  I have a pending review for SOCOM 4 that is incomplete because I am unable to test the online multiplayer portions.  I also have the latest MotorStorm and if Sony doesn’t get the network on soon, I’ll also have a review up which won’t include those features.  Surely I’ll go back and edit the reviews later, but it doesn’t look very professional when we have to do things like that.  The bottom line is, let’s hope Sony has everything up and running within the next few days.

What games are you missing the most?

  1. Yeah I’m missing SOCOM 4 and believe it or not, I’m also missing Uncharted 2 right now! I started playing online again with some friends.

But the worst part is still all the people that have no work right now at my job until PSN’s back!

  2. That sucks Pat. I hope the system can get back online soon. Have you heard anything on your end?

As for me, it’s all SOCOM because I need to finish the review. I’ve also got MotorStorm that needs a quick play through as well. Gah, too many games!

  3. Yeah that’s what I thought. I figured maybe you heard someone say something or other. Clearly it won’t be online this evening, which sucks, but whatever. I’ll try again on Monday.
