Changes Being Made To How We Post News Moving Forward

For longtime readers you know that for years we’ve posted press releases and stuff like that.  It’s been extremely boring for us to post, and I’m certain for you to read as well.  Moving forward we’re going to try something a bit different.  Instead of constantly posting all the news on the site, which we haven’t been doing anyways, we’re going to be using Facebook and Twitter exclusively.  Whatever we post on Facebook will automatically be posted on Twitter, and you can follow along on the site by looking to the right sidebar.

If huge news breaks we’ll obviously post it directly on the site, but for the day to day news we can easily update you all as it happens from anywhere in the world with a very simply one sentence update on FB and Twitter.

Think of this as an evolving experiment Ahmed has been working on, but now one I feel I should get involved as well.  I think there’s a lot of potential for delivering fast and constant news by using this simple process.

The main site will continue to be used for our daily exclusive features, reviews, and big news.  This should make readers much more interested in our unique content, but continue to allow them to follow along with the news in a manner they can relate to.  Who doesn’t own an iPhone or Android-phone today?  There are apps on these devices that allow you to easily see all our updates as soon as we publish them.

Let us know what you think by leaving a comment either here on the site, via Facebook or Twitter.  As always, thanks for the continued support.

  1. Yup. I’ve been doing this for quite some time, but Jarrod just made it official here. I also encourage our staffers to log in to our Facebook page and post whatever. If any one of our staff members wants Twitter access, just inform me and I’ll send you the info. Access to our FB page is very simple since you guys are admins. Just click on it and you’re there, but you need to adjust a few settings in case you want to post in our pages as yourself not as COE. Again, if you need more info just holler up with questions here.

  2. It’s a slick idea I say, and I’m not surprised that Ahmed come up with it. This area of our operation has never been my forte, so I’ve never suggested anything, but this sounds like a winner. While it’s great that we have a one-stop hub on the site, that too often runs the risk of content disappearing depending upon what happens in the industry on a day-to-day, week-to-week basis. This idea won’t stop that completely, but should be a big help. Well done boys :D Speaking of Android…I hope to start that content by summer’s end. We’ll see :)

  3. Sounds great Justin. I’m testing out a few apps to see what’s the best method for readers to keep track of all our status updates and thus far the official FB app works great, as does the Twitter one. Makes following the latest news a breeze.

Huge thanks goes to Ahmed for coming up with this brilliant idea.
