At this point we don’t know if there are plans to release any of the other 158 games that were released on the original platform.  It’s also interesting to note that Blaze is calling this a Limited Edition, so it’s unclear exactly what that means.  Will it be available in limited quantities, etc.?  We just don’t know at this point.

Jonathan Wan of Tommo said “I am very proud to be working with SNK PLAYMORE, as NEOGEO is a strong brand with an excellent gaming pedigree.”

“The NEOGEO console has always been a personal favorite of mine and I am delighted to be involved with the development of this new handheld console. We hope to re-ignite the excitement many of us felt twenty one years ago, in a more affordable manner, to a much wider audience,” said Jason Cooper of BLAZE.

We’ve reached out to Blaze and Tommo to try and get our hands on a review unit as soon as humanly possible.  We’ll also try and pick up another one of the products they distribute to give you an idea of the products they support, build quality, etc.  Obviously they don’t manufacture the devices themselves, but it would be interesting to see what they throw their weight behind.

We’ll have much more information on the Neo Geo X in the near future if all goes according to plan.
