NetherRealm and Warner Bros. Announce Injustice: Gods Among Us (Debut Trailer Inside)

First things first, check out the teaser trailer.

Now for some details.  Injustice is being developed by the creators of the recently rebooted Mortal Kombat and will feature many DC heroes and villains as they’re pitting against one another.  The trailer also mentions that something has happened to the Earth’s greatest heroes to cause them to become our worst threat.  The trailer also revealed several, but obviously not all, characters which will be featured in the game.  Batman, Superman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Lex Luthor and Solomon Grundy are the first ones to make an appearance.  We expect tons more before the game is released in 2013 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U.

The arenas also look like they will be highly interactive, or at least we’ll be able to throw our opponents through buildings, or use special moves where all sorts of insane things can happen like Superman punching a character into outer space, only to slam him back down to Earth.  Given this is from the creators of MK, I can only imagine what sort of craziness will ensue.

This announcement sort of took me by surprise, and looks much more promising than the MK DC mashup we received before.  Anyone interested?

  1. Hell yeah! This looks so good. Netherrealm will do it justice considering Warner has full access to DC. It’s a match made in heaven.

  2. This is a fighter that requires you to leave your brain at the door, much like most do, but Steven mentioned something interesting to me a few hours back. Imagine if someone were to make a realistic game with these characters. Superman would be god-like. There’s no way someone like Harley would be able to do anything except burn lol.

Anyways, I really dig the style, and the WB owns DC Entertainment so yeah they can add whomever they want.

  3. Ah man, the embedded teaser is already down. The teaser is really rad and I’ll probably get this game, but…does anyone else get the impression that they kind of ripped off the Ultimate MVC3 trailer a bit ( Just thought that was a bit uncanny, lol. I’m more of a Capcom fighting fan, but I liked the new Mortal Kombat so I’ll probably follow this one. Didn’t much care for MK vs. DC, but just a strict DC fighter should be interesting.
