E3 2012 – LucasArts Officially Announces Star Wars: 1313

In one of the early E3 announcements, LucasArts has officially announced Star Wars: 1313.  Since this is technically a pre-E3 announcement no trailer was released.  All we have is the following image to share with you, and what 1313 means.

Named for Level 1313, a ruthless criminal underground deep below the surface of the planet of Coruscant, the game puts players in control of a deadly bounty hunter as he uses an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy. Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world.

While it isn’t much, the shuttle is clearly from the original trilogy’s timeline so this could place the game somewhere around the time of Empire and Jedi.  We’ll have more info as we get it, but I leave you off with a quote from Paul Meegan, President of LucasArts.

“We’re excited to share one of the projects LucasArts has been hard at work developing.  Star Wars 1313 dives into a part of the Star Wars mythos that we’ve always known existed, but never had a chance to visit. We are committed to bringing the best gameplay experience and visual fidelity to life and I truly believe the work we are showcasing at E3 will speak for itself.”

  1. I’m REALLY looking forward to this game! I love backstory games, that don’t deal with the “main” stars of the series. This being the jedi and sith. The Star Wars universe is HUGE and there are soo many small little stories taking place in it! I hope this is not the last side-story game that will be released for Star Wars!
