Excellent review! I haven't dived into this game myself yet, but I've enjoyed watching people play it. The monster designs are absolutely wonderful. It kind of has a Dark Souls vibe to it, if you get my meaning there. I like how the monsters have this sense of ferocity to them and the combat system is dynamic enough to make the encounters seem like an epic confrontation.

I definitely agree about the characters and the music. It seems like CAPCOM borrowed from the wrong part of Western RPGs on that end. Honestly, I'd like to see them tap into their JRPG roots, with games like Breath of Fire. That series always had an interesting story and mythos. It would be cool to see some traces of that series get into Dragon's Dogma.
