Oh Amhed just go back right now and finish Portal 2. You can do it in 8 hours man and it'll remain one of your favorite games ever. It's just incredible, especially once you get to the gel areas. The story takes off at that point.

I got to play like a couple of hours of Portal 2 months ago and I had such a blast! What a refreshing First Person game. Such witty writing! Played the original like a year ago and finished it in one sitting!

Yeah it's wild Ahmed. I think the reason people have stuck round for so long is because of how influential the original game was. The second one introduced the whole gravity system, which was equally influential. Valve has been teasing another Half-Life for years, even in Portal 2 if you know where to look. I finally got the chance to play through Portal 2, and wow what an amazing game. Now I need a co-op partner to do the other half of the game. Really loved the story and how it directly connects to Half-Life. Damn Valve for waiting a decade to get us Half-Life 3! The worst part is how they ended Half-Life 2 Episode 2, it was such a cliffhanger.

Very interesting. I guess they left those out for a valid reason, eh? I might tackle this since it's free and all.

What baffles me about Half Life is that it's only two installments, with a few expansions to Half Life 2. Episode 3 and the third installment have been teased for quite awhile but nothing is announced yet. Despite so, like you said it has a very big and hardcore fanbase.

Indeed Tim. I'd love to see the same thing done with certain Nintendo classics, like Super Mario 64 with lush new 3D models, etc. We got a really nice enhanced port of OoT, but imagine a complete fan-made reworking, that'd be awesome.

Actually Ahmed this is the perfect way to experience Half-Life because you will find it ties perfectly into Half-Life 2 in a much better way than the original ever did. Also, fear not about those missing chapters as they are universally known to be the poorest of the game. In fact those last few stages are more first-person platforming stages than FPS for some odd reason. They were left out purposely because the developers are actually looking to rework the ending so, again, it better ties into what comes next.

Keep in mind that the original Half-Life was Valve's very first game so while technically impressive from several different aspects, they never intended to make this some long-lasting franchise as it eventually became.

These are the most hardcore of fans I've ever seen, and we have to give them tremendous credit for going the distance and finally releasing this project. Once it's officially released on Steam I think we're going to continue to see updates and whatnot for the next several years at least.

Very interesting. 8 years eh? What a bunch of dedicated fans. I never played a Half Life game before so this is a good place to start I guess. It is kinda disappointing that there's only 13 chapters remade because for new gamers like me the story will probably end in a cliffhanger.

Even if you aren't into FPS, you can appreciate the dedication to this project. It's pretty amazing to see just what an improvement these guys made over the original game. Shame it took 8 years to get out, but it makes perfect sense as everyone has their real lives to live, sort of like us ;)

Very cool that there are fans willing to take 8 years to remake a game lol. Their love is far greater than mine will ever be! As for me, I will pass man. I do not like FPS at all :(

I used to be into Quake Arena and deathmatch games online back in the day, but not anymore. I don't know, it's the whole first person view that ruins it for me haha. I don't like it at all, and I rather the games use a good third person view instead. And FPS bore me to death (single player modes, but maybe newer ones won't be soo bad if the stories are good). Like I said, I used to love deathmatches online but I can find MUCH better pvp with MMO's instead of shooters!

These types of games are not my cup of tea, and never have been too. This is still a very cool project tho haha thanks for sharing
