Sony Announces February 20th Reveal of…

Sony is telling the press, and I quote “The PlayStation meeting will be about the future of the PlayStation business.”  The event goes down on February 20th, and we’ll have all the details at that time.  For now, here’s the teaser Sony posted a short time ago.

Everyone is saying this will be where and when the PlayStation 4 will be announced.  I really hope this is the case because I’ve always found revealing new hardware at E3 to be too rushed.  A separate event solely talking about the hardware and what to expect allows the company to move at their own pace.  Look at how Apple does their press conferences.  They can be as short as 40 minutes, or as long as three hours.

So what do you think the future of PlayStation will be?  Could we be looking at PlayStation 4K ;)

  1. Very exciting! Although Sony got off to a rough start with the PS3 I feel that they’ve worked hard to create a rock solid, diversified experience for consumers in the past few years and I’m really looking forward to what they’ll bring to us next. :)

  2. I’m really curious to see exactly what they will show. I’m not expecting too much info, such as a release date and pricing info. I think this event will act more like a huge teaser where we’ll see some first party stuff, maybe confirmation on a couple of third party titles in development like the new Metal Gear and Watch Dogs. I hope we at least see the console, even if it is only for a couple of seconds. Some tech specs would be equally nice, but I really don’t know what the heck they’re going to do given how early in the year it is for such an event.
