Reflection #3: The Legend is Reborn and a World is Brought to Life Like Never Before
404/15/2012
You may as well call it Zelda month here at Project COE considering all the posts that have been popping up related to the Triforce and the hero in green. From features on Link’s Awakening and Majora’s Mask, to theories about a new A Link to the Past, to a discussion of Steven and Jarrod’s top [...]
Miyamoto Wants a New Link to the Past…and So Do I!
604/12/2012
Miyamoto wants a new Link to the Past, and so do I. From the very first time I played A Link to the Past I knew this game was something special. After replaying it with Steven a few months back, it holds up perfectly even after 20 years! If Miyamoto wants to create a new Zelda in the same vein as ALttP, I say go for it! I've always wanted a direct sequel or at least a game set in the same universe using a similar art style and gameplay. Could my dreams finally be coming true after all these years?
Reflection #2: Cremia’s Hug
804/12/2012
This is not a particularly well-known event in in the grand scope of video games, perhaps because it isn’t built upon death or sadness, but instead around a rather understated warmth that has always resonated with me. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask enters the darkest territory of any Zelda game [...]
Reflection: Link’s Awakening and The End of A Dream
2104/05/2012
There’s something about the imagery of scaling a mountain to its very highest peak to confront your dreams, nightmares, or to smite your enemies that has resounded with mankind for ages. The metaphor of rising from the bottom, overcoming all trials, mastering yourself, and ascending to your full [...]
Skyward Sword Nets Another Perfect Score
5311/16/2011
While Famitsu isn’t as tough as they used to be, it’s still a rather rare occurrence to see them hand out a perfect score. Well that’s exactly what they’ve done with the latest Zelda, Skyward Sword. This is the 16th game the magazine has awarded a perfect score and the third Zelda after Ocarina of [...]

The Legendary Journey – Ocarina of Time 3D – Chapter 2

Platform: Original: Nintendo 64, Remake: 3DS

Where am I? I finished the entire game with one hundred percent of the items, including all one hundred Gold Skulltulas and twenty heart containers. As I always like to say, consider this another Zelda mastered.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks Afterthoughts
707/04/2011
I, just moments ago, completed Spirit Tracks and thought I’d review it just for the heck of it. A good friend of mine (you may know him here as AppetitePat) told me I should try Phantom Hourglass a few years ago, as he knew how much of a Zelda fan I was. I always thought the stylus controls would [...]

The Legendary Journey – Wind Waker – Chapter 4
506/30/2011
Jarrod's back with his second to last entry in The Legendary Journey - Wind Waker. He discusses the Wind and Earth Temples as well as all the exploring he's been doing. Moving around the Great Sea may not be the easiest thing in the world to do, but it's worth extending this incredible journey.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D Adventure Log – Part II: Time to Grow Up!
1106/24/2011
My play-though of OoT continues as I finally grow up and be a man (Beach Boys, here I come!). That Poe seller is ironically the first (and hopefully last) NPC who acknowledges your adulthood in an extremely creepy way...
