Reflection: Link’s Awakening and The End of A Dream

21
There’s something about the imagery of scaling a mountain to its very highest peak to confront your dreams, nightmares, or to smite your enemies that has resounded with mankind for ages. The metaphor of rising from the bottom, overcoming all trials, mastering yourself, and ascending to your full [...]

Skyward Sword Nets Another Perfect Score

53
While Famitsu isn’t as tough as they used to be, it’s still a rather rare occurrence to see them hand out a perfect score.  Well that’s exactly what they’ve done with the latest Zelda, Skyward Sword. This is the 16th game the magazine has awarded a perfect score and the third Zelda after Ocarina of [...]

The Legendary Journey – Ocarina of Time 3D – Chapter 2

8
Platform: Original: Nintendo 64, Remake: 3DS Play Time: 25 hours and 5 minutes Where am I? I finished the entire game with one hundred percent of the items, including all one hundred Gold Skulltulas and twenty heart containers.  As I always like to say, consider this another Zelda mastered. [...]
The newly minted OoT 3D box art. Not quite as classic, but still very nice.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks Afterthoughts

7
I, just moments ago, completed Spirit Tracks and thought I’d review it just for the heck of it. A good friend of mine (you may know him here as AppetitePat) told me I should try Phantom Hourglass a few years ago, as he knew how much of a Zelda fan I was. I always thought the stylus controls would [...]
The end...for now...

The Legendary Journey – Wind Waker – Chapter 5

3
Platform: GameCube Play Time: The time is not recorded in this game. Where am I? I finished the game with 100% of the items and side-quests completed. Gameplay advancements: Not too much happened during the last leg of the game.  I discuss the final battle with Ganondorf below and how awesome it [...]

The Legendary Journey: Twilight Princess – Chapter 5

11
I completed the Snowpeak Ruins dungeon and the Temple of Time dungeon and stopped playing when I arrived in the Hidden Village. I also found the last golden bug and traded all my bugs in for the Giant Wallet. I currently have 16 full heart containers as well. When I entered the Temple of Time I got goose bumps once the hymn started playing. The link between TP and OoT is really pronounced in this game. Makes me wish we’d get more links like this to A Link to the Past because I just love that game.

So a Zelda Movie has Just been Released…

0
Seriously, no joke. There’s a catch, though. It’s produced by fans. Let’s face it; we won’t see an official, big-budget, Nintendo-supported adaptation of the movie anytime soon, so fan-made indie work is the closest thing we’ll get. “Zelda: The Hero of Time” has been delayed for years, but now it’s [...]

http://dod.vgmix.com/past/2009-may/ Let’s take a break from E3 a bit and talk about game music remixes. Good stuff to listen to here to get you into a gaming mood. So Dwelling of Duels is a monthly competition in which you remix game music based on certain themes. It’s usually two consecutive [...]
